Assistant Director of Admissions Appointed to Lenfest Scholars Board

Mount St. Mary’s University Assistant Director of Admissions Erin E. Crum has been appointed to the board of directors of the Lenfest Scholars Foundation.

crum-1.jpgThe Lenfest Scholarship Program was started by H.F. (Gerry) and Marguerite Lenfest in 2001 as a way to create opportunities for rural students. Crum became the first student from Fairfield High School to be named as a scholar in 2009. The program, which has benefitted hundreds of students, is open to students in their junior year at 23 high schools in the Pennsylvania counties of Adams, Chester, Franklin, Lancaster, Montgomery and York. In addition to receiving up to $12,000 a year for four years of study, scholars also become part of the Lenfest community, connecting in ways that enrich their lives and the lives of others.

“The foundation was incredibly important in my educational opportunities, so I’m grateful to have the opportunity to give back,” said Crum, who is excited to work on the annual community weekend at which alumni of the program, as well as recently accepted scholars, network and participate in career development sessions. Crum, who earned a bachelor's degree in international studies from American University and an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s, is the second Lenfest Scholar to be named to the board.
