Chielli will officially take on his new responsibilities on June 1, when Michael Post, vice president for enrollment management, leaves for a similar position at Bridgewater College. During his 13 years of service to the Mount, Post, a Mount alumnus, guided enrollment and student life.
“Michael has built a superb enrollment and admissions operation, and we thank him for his service to the Mount,” said President Timothy E. Trainor, Ph.D.
Chielli, who came to the Mount in January 2017, has already had an impact on enrollment through the “Live Significantly” integrative marketing campaign that the university launched in November 2017 and other brand and communications strategies that have been implemented. He also has been working closely with Post in a transition period as they together oversee formation of the Class of 2022.
“During his interview process, I was impressed by Jack’s knowledge of and passion for enrollment in private college. My confidence in his capabilities to manage and lead in this area has only grown since his service to the Mount,” President Trainor said. “I believe that this organizational change will make our overall organization more effective in delivering our promise to create ethical leaders who lead lives of significance in service to God and others.”
Prior to the Mount, Chielli served in the marketing and communications department at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for 12 years, first as executive director of marketing and communications, and later as executive assistant to the president for government relations and associate vice president. During this time Chielli’s work on the university’s branding received awards and notoriety from the New York Times, National Public Radio and other news organizations.
Earlier in his career, Chielli held the role of executive director of communications for the Community College of Allegheny County, located in Pittsburgh, as well as communications manager for the Controller of Allegheny County.
Chielli holds a Bachelor of Arts from Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I. and a Master of Arts from Wilkes University.
