MSMU Agreement Provides Montgomery College Graduates With Tuition Reduction

Frederick common area

Montgomery College and Mount St. Mary’s University (MSMU) are announcing an agreement to provide Montgomery College (MC) graduates a tuition reduction for programs at the MSMU Frederick Campus.

Under the memorandum of understanding, MC graduates will receive 20 percent off their tuition for the following undergraduate programs held at the MSMU Frederick Campus through Graduate, Continuing, and Professional Studies: accounting, business administration, criminal justice, elementary/special education, and human services.

“Montgomery College is thrilled to be partnering with Mount St. Mary’s University on this agreement,” said MC President DeRionne Pollard. “By increasing opportunities for affordable higher education, we are together building the pipeline of achievement in Maryland. This serves our communities and neighborhoods as well as strengthening individuals’ futures.”

“Mount St. Mary’s University has proudly served adult undergraduate and graduate students in the Frederick and Northern Montgomery community for almost 20 years,” said Jennifer Staiger, Ph.D., MSMU’s associate provost of the Division of Graduate, Professional and Continuing Education.  “We are honored to offer reasonably priced educational opportunities to successful Montgomery College graduates who wish to continue their academic journey with a bachelor’s degree at the Mount.”

Both Mount St. Mary’s University and Montgomery College are known for students’ career outcomes success. The Mount is ranked as the No. 1 college for employment in Maryland by Zippia, and Montgomery College is ranked 10th in the country for students’ career outcomes by WalletHub.

The reduced tuition will be offered starting with the Summer 2019 semester. The rate does not apply to supplies, books, fees, or other costs associated with a program.

The agreement also allows a student to receive the same reduced tuition rate for any future graduate degree enrollment if they enroll in the graduate program directly after completing their undergraduate degree program.
