Mount St. Mary’s University President Timothy E. Trainor, Ph.D., has been named to The Daily Record’s 2021 listing of Influential Marylanders.
The editors of The Daily Record selected Trainor and 50 other Influential Marylanders for their significant contributions to their respective fields and for their leadership in Maryland. The honorees were recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on July 29.
“As chair of the Mount St. Mary's board, I see Tim Trainor's stellar leadership every day but particularly during the pandemic,” said Mount St. Mary’s Board of Trustees Chair Gracelyn McDermott, C’93. “His strong leadership not only benefited students, who lived and learned on campus all year, but also the local community and private universities across the state. Well done, sir.”
“I humbly accept this recognition as an affirmation of the university’s leadership in and impact on Frederick County and the state,” said Trainor. In an interview with The Daily Record, Trainor credited hard work and collaboration for his ability to affect change.
The Daily Record launched Influential Marylanders in 2007 to recognize those who have made significant impacts in their field and continue to be leaders in Maryland.
"The 2021 Influential Marylanders lead, innovate, create and mentor. What they do makes a difference in Maryland and often beyond," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of The Daily Record. "They are actively engaged in the community and are simply inspirational. The Daily Record congratulates them for all their achievements."
