Twenty-seven alumni priests and three lay alumni from 13 dioceses across the country attended Mount St. Mary's Seminary's Alumni Reunion on September 29 and 30. The alumni represented classes from 1965 to 2008.
Father Ed Wichman, S’80, of the Pittsburgh Diocese, serving as celebrant for the Homecoming Mass on September 29 in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Father William Pierce, S’71, of the Diocese of Camden, served as homilist.
Following Mass, the Alumni Reunion Dinner featured the presentation of two John Cardinal McCloskey Awards for 2020 and 2021. The 2020 Recipient was Father Edward J. Quinlan, S’78, of the Diocese of Harrisburg. The 2021 recipient was Father Lee Gross, former Seminary dean of men. The alumni priests celebrating milestone anniversaries were also recognized.
On September 30, the Alumni Mass was held at St. Mary’s Chapel, Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Serving as celebrant was Father Michael Krull, S’86, of the Diocese of Metuchen. Serving as homilist was Father Al Fontana, S’96, of the Archdiocese of Hartford. Following Mass, a brunch was held in the Seminary Dining Room.
