More than 100 members of the Mount St. Mary's, National Shrine Grotto and local communities came out in force on September 10 for a community service day to help with the care of the holy grounds at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Volunteers included the university men's lacrosse and women's basketball teams, other students, seminarians, faculty, President Trainor, administrators and staff.

"Our team is sincerely grateful for the outstanding support. Special kudos to the men’s lacrosse  team and the women’s basketball teams, great examples of our student’s mission to be in service to God and others."

During the seven hours of service, volunteers powerwashed, mulched flower beds, cleaned up and weeded garden areas, cleaned marble benches, and polished the plexiglass on the Mysteries of the Rosary.

Photos from the day of service can be found on the university's Flickr photo site.
