Many different factors brought me to the Mount.
One of the most compelling reasons for me to attend Mount St. Mary's was that I had the unique opportunity to pursue my swimming career at the D1 level. This proved to be an amazing opportunity for me, and I am extremely thankful for the memories and lessons I learned from being a student-athlete at the Mount. The next reason I decided to pursue this mountain community is because until my freshman year here, I never had the opportunity to pursue my education in a Catholic community. This was important to me after spending many years in educational institutions that had different values than me.
I decided to take COMM 301 to learn to become a better writer. I especially wanted to become a better writer for my career so that in any professional setting where I might need to contact and address a large audience, I will be prepared.
I have decided that my theme for this blog will be about my perspective at the Mount as a retired student-athlete in the last semester of my college career. Over the next few weeks, I will be writing about my experiences as a swimmer and D1 athlete, a student, and the Catholic environment that has allowed me to become the person that I am today.
Make sure to check each week for my reflections and for those of my classmates as we share our view of MSMU!
