To start the post off, I want to begin with a recap of the matches I talked about: We went 1-1, losing to LIU but beating SFU. We lost 1-6 to LIU, after a lot of close matches in singles and doubles. But, we recovered quickly and went on to beat SFU 4-0 the next day. We grabbed the doubles point quickly after winning line 3, and my partner and I clinched the point at line 2. We proceeded to win lines 3,4, and 6 of singles and stopped the other matches mid-play due to the weather conditions.
This weekend, we have two more matches: Wagner, another conference opponent, and Penn State. There are two very different feelings about these matches. Against Wagner, we are the favorites and we know it. We are supposed to go out there and take care of business. We then move on to Penn State, where they are the favorite, which leavs us with a completely different feeling. In a weird way, the Penn State match will be more fun, but less important since it's not a conference match up.
Overall, I'm very excited about these two upcoming matches. With the confident win over SFU recently, we are excited about what is to come. That win secured our seeding to be above SFU; and with a few more good conference results, we could even work our way in a little higher. As always, I'll update you next week on how it goes!
