With the spring season upon us, golf season came in quickly. With days reaching a sunny 70 degrees, my roommates and I all hit the course. We figured that with the sun setting later and the weather being so nice, it's nice to be able to get nine holes in after class.
After all of our classes ended around 3:15 on Tuesday, we made the 12 minute drive over to the Links at Gettysburg. Like I have stated in previous blogs, my roommates and I work there which allows us to play golf for free. My roommates who don't work there can't play for free, but they got their round for $20, which in the golf industry is really cheap. The family/friend discount that they give us at the Links is a huge bonus because when my family comes to see me at college we have something affordable and fun to go and do.
When the four of us stepped up onto the first tee, we knew it was going to be rough since none of us have played since last November. We continued to make our way around the front nine of the course playing some terrible golf, but it was not about that. To us, golf is just about getting outside and getting away from normal scenery and doing something different. Even though we played terribly, getting out with your friends and doing something outside is always refreshing.
I really do recommend you read one of my previous blogs on how I got the job at the course so you to could follow my footsteps and enjoy some free golf with your friends, and I encourage you all to also check back next week for another update on what's going on outside of the Mount!
