Ways to Organize Your Week

Jack Bowman, C'24

Methods of planning

It can be hard to keep your classwork organized; here are some ways to help.

As the semester continues and workload increases, it can get difficult to keep track of all of the work you need to do. At times, it feels like every class has a million assignments that need your time and attention. It is extremely easy to let one or two slip.

There are ways to avoid this.

There are countless methods one can use to stay organized when it comes to their classwork, but here are a few that are simple, easy, and accessible.

1) Utilize Canvas

As most know, Canvas comes with a built-in to-do list and a calendar feature. Both are extremely helpful when it comes to keeping track of what you have on tap for a given day or week.

By actually using these features, you have a built-in, easy, and accessible tool to keep track of all of your work.

2) Use the Notes app on your phone

It's not the most sophisticated way to keep track of assignments and due dates, but it is an accessible one. Most college students are on their phones a lot which makes keeping a to-do list in their phone a sensible option.

3) Use a planner

A planner can be any notebook, whether it's a composition book, a calendar, or an actual planner/agenda book, to keep track of assignments. The tactile act of writing out the things you have to do can aid in memory and retention, lowering the likelihood that you forget something.

If you consider using some of these tips to keep your due dates and other obligations organized, the end of the semester is bound to go more smoothly which should result in less stress for you!
