As a senior coming back from Spring Break, it is bittersweet to know that I am coming down to my final months as a college student. Over Spring Break, I traveled to Delaware. While in Delaware, I looked around the area where I may be living once I graduate. I toured different apartments with my mom and my brother to get a lay of the land and to have an idea of what my future might look like. Going to Delaware made me realize how excited I am to graduate and begin the next chapter of my life as I start my career.
Moving away from my home in Maryland to Rehoboth, Delaware would be tough as I am very close with my family. The distance equates to roughly a four-hour drive, so it’s comforting to know I will be able to see my family if I really need to, especially over a long weekend. However, I believe that this is a challenge that I would be able to handle, and it would come with many benefits. One thing I'm looking forward to is getting to live right next to the beach where I can pursue my passion for offshore fishing. I am also thinking of going to work for a construction company that would provide me with an extremely promising and exciting career.
While coming down to my final months as a senior at Mount St. Mary’s University, it has become very apparent to me that I should spend plenty of time with my friends. While in Delaware and realizing that I am nearing the end of this chapter, I also came to the conclusion that my friends are going through the same experience. Eventually, it will not be as easy to see the people that I have grown so close to over the past four years. Therefore I plan on returning to my mountain home to attend alumni events and to make the time to see my fellow Mountaineers in our hometowns, whether those be new towns like Rehoboth will be for me or the towns where we grew up.
