Helpful De-stressing with Excercising

In this blog, I share my experience and motivation to work out. Here you will find tips on how I overcame school stress and anxieties.

One of my goals for this semester was to go to the gym more. During the fall semester, I became so busy that I didn’t prioritize time to blow off the school steam that would get the best of me. This semester, I prioritize taking 1-2 hours out of my day to go to the gym to get a good day’s cardio. Now that I have put working out into my daily schedule, I see better results in my performance in the classroom.

Being fit and getting the right amount of exercise is essential. One of the biggest things that got the best of me was stress from school or not getting enough sleep. Once I started exercising more, it reduced my stress and helped balance my sleep schedule. I would often not have enough energy on Tuesdays and Thursdays because I have early classes. To eliminate the lack of energy I had, every Monday and Wednesday night, I would run on the treadmill and finish my night off with some stretches and arm and leg workouts. Not only did this help me gain the energy I needed, but I was also more alert in class and took fewer naps during the week.

As a college student and for any individual, I believe taking time out of your day to work out is very important. The results show more than ever, and it is a great way to transition your mind from things that lower your self-esteem and school stress and, most importantly, make you feel better about yourself.
