Unfortunately, it is not yet time to celebrate my ending my search for a job, but this is not bad news because I believe that I will be receiving either an offer or a rejection letter from the company that I interviewed for six times this week. While I feel confident that I will receive the job I cannot help but feel extremely anxious as I wait because this job is my first choice for employment. Another thing that is confirming my anxious thoughts is that one of my six interviews seemed to go poorly as my interviewer seemed very uninterested in talking to me. One thing that is easing my nerves is that I already have another offer from a good company that has provided me with a very generous salary and has worked with me very closely to make the application process a breeze. Therefore, at the end of the day, I know that I will be happy with whatever job I end up taking.
The nice thing about this week is that it is shortened by our Easter break. Knowing this, I have not seen as many of my friends here at the Mount as professors are trying to jam assignments and exams in before we go for a break. It also doesn't help that my fellow seniors are all scrambling to find jobs at the same time. Therefore I think many of us are finding ourselves more stressed out than in our past semesters. This is especially true due to the fact that we constantly have interviews that often get scheduled extremely quickly, therefore we have very little time to let our professors know that we need extensions, that we will be absent from class, and that we have to reschedule meetings or presentations.
While this is a very stressful time it is also very exciting! Therefore stay tuned and hopefully, I will know where I am working by next week's post!
