Week 7 of my senior year was much like many weeks I have had in the past, and I would not have it any other way. The week unfortunately proved to be extremely cold and chilly, which was a major surprise considering the week before I was grilling on the patio with my friends almost every night. This last week not only brought cold weather, but it also came with snow flurries, rain, hail, and high winds. While I had a very good week, I am looking forward to the weather warming up again because it is hard to beat a sunny day at the Mount.
During the week, I managed to land an interview with one of the biggest construction companies in the nation. This opportunity is extremely exciting for me as I would be very happy to work with this company after college because it will provide me with numerous opportunities and experiences that would cause me to become an extremely valuable employee in a few short years.
Another major event that I experienced this last week is sadly the goodbyes had to begin sooner than expected. While I am incredibly happy for my friends' successes, saying goodbye will be hard. It saddens me to say goodbye to one of my best friends who left the Mount early this semester to pursue his new job across the country. Unfortunately, I know that I will need to get used to saying goodbye as I am going to have to leave my mountain home soon.
While saying goodbye is a normal part of growing up, it has proven to still be difficult. Nonetheless, I have been incredibly thankful for the time I have had with every person I have met here. The Mount's close knit community really allows students to make deep connections that last long after we've left our mountain home.
