This week has been very successful for the team as we are now on a two-match winning streak and are hoping to extend it to three with our upcoming match VS Wagner. We started off strong sweeping Gettysburg on Tuesday, 7-0. We took the doubles point quickly, which gave us momentum heading into the singles. Winning all of the matches decisively was great for the overall confidence of the team. We then went to Loyola the next day and beat them 5-2, extending our win streak to nine years. My doubles partner and I clinched the doubles point, and we went on to win 4 of the 6 singles matches.
These wins are great for the team as we have come off a series of tough losses. They are going to help our morale leading into the match Monday and the conference tournament next weekend. Beating Loyola felt extra good as they are our rivals according to our administration. Faculty tends to follow the match a bit closer as they hold this win higher than the rest, making sure we get the job done.
Overall, I am really happy with how the season has gone so far, and I am glad that I have gotten to spend it with such great teammates. No matter the results of the conference tournament, I know that I have left it all out there and won't have any regrets. I will always be proud to be a Mountaineer.
