Keeping In Touch After Graduation

Michael Gomez

Yesterday was the last day of classes of the Spring 2022 semester. However, for some of us seniors, we attended our last classes ever. As of today, there’s only eight days until we all walk across stage to mark the end of our college careers. While some seniors here at the Mount are starting their next chapter in life by attending graduate school, other seniors are starting their next life chapter by focusing on a potential job and career. To celebrate our next moves, some of the Mount alumni were kind enough to host a Senior Send-off to honor this big accomplishment.

The Senior Send-off was a great experience. First, we started off by having our Class of ’22 plaque placed into the ground outside of the Delaplaine Fine Arts Center, then having it blessed by the priest. We then all came together to walk to the porch of Bradley Hall, where we were given free food and drinks, but most importantly, to come together and enjoy one of the last times on campus that we’ll spend with the amazing people we’ve spent the last four years with. From friends to strangers, it was a very nice scene to have the seniors come together for one last event.

During the event, Bob Brennan, a Mount alum, gave a toast in which he reminded us how important each and every one of us are to each other. Some of the people we’ve spent the last four years with are going to have a large impact in our lives, and may even be the best man or a bridesmaid at another student’s future wedding. Mr. Brennan implied how important it was for us to keep in touch with one another when we graduate, as the bonds and relationships that the students have with one another can only happen here, at Mount St. Mary’s University.

For the time I’ve spent at this school, I could say the one thing I am forever thankful for is the people that I’ve met and the friends that I’ve made here. Thanks for following along with my posts this semester. GO MOUNT!!!
