Josey Chacko, Ph.D., has been named interim dean of the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University. According to Provost Boyd Creasman, “As faculty talked to me about who should lead the Bolte School in the coming year, one name was mentioned over and over: Josey Chacko.”
A highly respected associate professor of business with expertise in supply chain management, Chacko is well suited to lead the business school. “His research is timely, and his students know that he is available and committed to their success,” added Creasman.
During the successful reaccreditation process with the International Accreditation Council for Business Education, Chacko was instrumental in leading the school’s assessment efforts. His colleagues appreciated his leadership during that time, and Dr. Chacko became the consensus choice for interim dean.
Faculty in the Bolte School point to Chacko's understanding of the Mount as a key qualification for the role. “Josey Chacko is well respected by the faculty, embodies the value of the institution, and understands the inner workings of the Bolte School,” Associate Professor Corinne Farneti said.
Chacko earned his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech University. He completed his undergraduate work at Moi University in Kenya. Chacko joined the faculty of Mount St. Mary’s University in 2015. He earned a certificate in production and inventory management from the Association of Supply Chain Management in 2019.
