Women’s lacrosse plays their final game at home Saturday, April 22. This will determine if we make the MAAC playoffs or not. I have the option as the women’s lacrosse manager to travel with the team if we make the playoffs. However, if we are hosting men’s lacrosse playoffs, I will be working the games. I think working a conference playoff would be an invaluable experience. The last time we hosted was during the 2021-2022 women’s lacrosse season.
As sports season begins to wrap up at the Mount, we are preparing to host the conference championships for track and field. There are only two teams in the MAAC conference that can host the championships, and this year it is the Mount’s turn. Men’s lacrosse is also dominating the MAAC as they currently hold first place. This means the Mount may be hosting men’s lacrosse playoffs. It’s possible the Mount will host two championship playoffs simultaneously.

I will be live tweeting while the Mount plays. Unfortunately, as a result of Elon Musk buying Twitter, sponsors have pulled out of their sponsorships, resulting in the loss of LiveCut. LiveCut allows the sports information staff to cut clips during the livestream. These clips tend to be popular and have even been picked up by ESPN mid-game. The loss of LiveCut rids my ability to live tweet from home. Therefore, if we are hosting the men’s lacrosse playoffs, Tyler Kraft, my supervisor, will film videos, have the SD card ran to me in the box, and then I will immediately upload it. Live tweeting is unnecessary for track and field, so I will not be needed for those championships.
Softball and baseball are also performing well this season, but we will not be hosting MAAC championships. As the season comes to an end, I am grateful for my experience working with women’s lacrosse as it is a sport I never knew about. I get to say I was a part of a Division I team, something a lot of people are not able to brag about. This is the plus of going to a smaller school. I would not have the ability to call the starting goalie my best friend if I were at a big school. Most people don’t even meet the players if they are not on the same team.
I have been able to get a kick start on my career and tons of experience with sports as the result of going to a smaller university. However, I think it is important for my resume that we are Division I as I have dealt with NCAA rules and regulations. One final bragging moment on Maddy Bradley. She will be going down in Mount Athletics’ history as one of the women’s lacrosse goalies with the most saves in her career. She is currently #10 in the NCAA for saves. Go Mount!
