Graduation Photo with Friends

I am ready for the next chapter of my life and know whatever I do it will be what is best for me in the time. It may not be the dream, but I am still young and just starting my career. For now, I am soaking in every moment at Ott’s, going grocery shopping with my roommates, and just being with all my friends before we all head home. While I have the photos from the graduation “photoshoot,” the memories and laughs will stay with me the most.

On Thursday, April 27, I took my graduation photos with my friends and roommates, Emiley and Kelly. While I am anxiously awaiting graduation, taking these photos was a bittersweet moment. It hit me. I will be graduating college in two weeks. A lot of emotions occur when thinking of this. I am excited for the next chapter, scared as I don’t know what to expect, anxious for job interviews, and so much more. But, overall, I am soaking in every last minute with my best friends.

I am learning as school comes to an end, I am developing more friendships. This is the case with many of the seniors I am developing friendships with. This was the case in high school as well. I think everyone is aware of the little time left so we are making the most out of these last moments. Although these friendships are developing later than we would’ve liked, we know we can visit each other in the summer and create lasting friendships.

Not only did graduation photos make everything seem real, but I also finally have my first job interview. One thing everyone kept telling me when I decided I wanted to work in sports was how difficult it is to get in. I listened but did not fully understand until I began applying for jobs. I have applied for multiple positions in various sports realms, however, it is a lot harder to get in than I anticipated. Fortunately, I have an interview coming up with a professional sports team’s marketing department. My dream is to work in professional sports doing social media. This is a step in the right direction.

I am learning it is more common than I thought not to have a job lined up immediately after graduation. The job market is hard, but I am lucky enough to have an amazing support system at home. If needed, I can live at home and pursue a job in marketing in the Lehigh Valley as I get on my feet. Kelly and I are encouraging each other as we continue to apply and wait to hear back.
