Introduction - Meet Elijah

Elijah Jumper, C'26

Greetings everybody! My name is Elijah Jumper. I am a second-year student at Mount St. Mary's University, majoring in business with a concentration in finance.

Being at the Mount has helped me pinpoint what I want to do in the future. Entering college, I did not have a sure idea of what route I wanted to take. Through my experiences here, and with the help of some great professors, I have decided to pursue a degree in business finance and plan to follow it up with a career in finance. With my interest in all things related to finance, I became a member of the Investment Club at the Mount.

The Investment Club has been a great opportunity for me to collaborate and work with other like-minded students and faculty. Not only does it assist me with my major and future, but also it gives me insights into the real world of personal finance. Seeing how different financial concepts are unique to each person has given me a deeper appreciation for the field.

Because of my understanding of the importance of finance, I feel it is very important to share this with you. Throughout the semester, I will be creating blog posts to share with the Mount community regarding updates and discussions happening in the Investment Club, but more importantly, what is happening in the everyday world of finance and how this relates to you.

I know reading this kind of information can be difficult or not the most appealing, but I feel I can give a unique outlook and way of blogging because I'm in the same position as many students.

As a full-time student, rugby player, and having various day-to-day student activities, I aim to create a quick and concise blog post. This post will be brief and will focus solely on providing essential information.

Moving forward through the semester, I am excited about the opportunity to share what I believe is important information and to help anybody who wants to get into the world of finance or just be informed. I am looking forward to the semester ahead!
