Hello everyone!! My name is Thomas Fitzpatrick V, and I go by Tommy. Yes, the V is there for a reason -- I am the fifth, and I hope to carry the name on in the future. I am a commuter student who is pursuing a business degree in my third and final year of college. As I begin my senior year, I see myself nearing the concluding pages of this chapter in my educational journey while preparing for the next chapter that life has in store for me.
When I first started to consider college, I honestly had zero care in the world where to apply since we were in the pandemic and many things were shut down. My senior year of high school was hybrid: some in-school learning and a lot of online learning. At the time, I had no motivation to think about the future or where I would go to college. I visited three colleges and applied to them all. I chose the Mount because it is very close to home, and once I got accepted, my search was complete.
As a business major, I want to pursue a government job in business analytics or budgeting. I want a full-time job right out of college and have stable pay. I want to move out of my parent's house by the end of the year because I believe living alone is a way for me to grow as an individual.
I also want to open and be the sole owner of a gym one day. I enjoy weightlifting as it is one of the best ways for me to escape mentally, and I enjoy the process of what I am building every time I step foot in a gym. I know how important the gym is to me; therefore, creating a gym for others is a long-term goal.
I am grateful to be able to provide an insight into my experiences throughout my time at the Mount and look forward to a semester of explaining the journey that has helped shape me into who I am and becoming.
