Hey everyone!
My name is Jessica Howe, and I’m a junior transfer student at Mount St. Mary’s University. I transferred from Frederick Community College, where I earned my associate degree in communications, and now I’m majoring in communications with a concentration in public relations. I commute from Frederick, Maryland, which has given me a unique perspective on balancing campus life while living off-campus.
One of the biggest reasons I chose the Mount was the smaller class sizes and the opportunity to really connect with my professors. I love being in a place where I’m not just another face in the crowd, and I’ve already felt so welcome here. Another huge part of my experience has been joining the cheerleading team! It’s been such a great way to meet people, get involved and feel like I truly belong on campus.
Throughout the semester, I’ll share more about my experience as a transfer student, what it’s like commuting, and how I stay involved with school while balancing everything. I hope my posts can help other students—whether you’re thinking about transferring, commuting or just looking for ways to get more involved.
I can’t wait to share more with you all!
