Mount St. Mary's University President Gerard J. Joyce, Ph.D., and Frederick County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Rick Weldon sign MOU between organizations.

New MOU adds at least a 60% undergraduate tuition reduction for chamber members, employees and their dependents; continues a 20% reduction for Division of Continuing Studies programs

Mount St. Mary's University and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce signed a renewed memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Sept. 9, further strengthening a partnership that began in 2019 and expanding affordable pathways to a Mount education for Frederick County's workforce and their families. Under the agreement, eligible chamber members, employees and their dependents who are under the age of 23 and enroll full time at the Mount's Emmitsburg campus will now receive at least a 60% tuition reduction. Chamber members, employees and dependents who enroll through the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) will continue to receive a 20% tuition reduction.

"By extending a 60% undergraduate tuition reduction to chamber members' dependents who enroll full-time at our Emmitsburg campus, we're making a Mount education significantly more accessible for Frederick County families," said Barbara A. Marinak, Ph.D., interim provost of Mount St. Mary's University. "This family-focused benefit builds on our partnership and complements the continued 20% reduction for DCS programs."

Rick Weldon, president and CEO of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, added, "From upskilling working professionals to opening doors for the next generation, this agreement is a win for our members and for Frederick County's long-term competitiveness."

The MOU builds on the original 2019 agreement between the Mount and the chamber and adds a new undergraduate tuition-reduction benefit for chamber families.
