The Mount Climbs in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Mount St. Mary’s University earned notable gains in the 2025–26 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, advancing in academic excellence, value and student success.

Mount St. Mary’s University continues to rise among the nation’s top institutions, earning significant gains in the 2025–26 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings. The Mount advanced in three key categories, reflecting the university’s commitment to academic excellence, affordability and student success.

The Mount is now ranked No. 72 among Best Regional Universities (North)—a nine-spot increase from last year. The university also rose 12 places to No. 18 on the Best Value Schools list, highlighting the Mount’s dedication to providing a high-quality, accessible education that delivers strong outcomes for students. Additionally, the university improved eight places to No. 142 among Top Performers in Social Mobility, a category that measures how effectively schools graduate students who receive Pell Grants.

“These rankings underscore the Mount’s continued progress and our mission-driven approach to higher education,” said President Jerry Joyce, Ph.D. “We’re proud that our commitment to academic rigor, affordability and opportunity for all students is being recognized on a national level.”

The U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate colleges and universities on factors such as graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, academic reputation and affordability. The Mount’s upward trajectory across multiple categories reflects the institution’s strategic focus on student achievement and long-term success.
