As freshman Mac Ridgely joined hundreds of new students on move-in day at Mount St. Mary's University on Sunday, he took time to reflect on why the school was the right choice for him.
Ridgely, a recent graduate of Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, said the Mount stood out among a dozen colleges he looked at because its programs were presented with a personal touch.
He said Gerard Joyce, the Mount's president, visited Calvert Hall, had a conversation with Ridgely about rugby, then later personally handed him an offer to join the Mount's rugby team.
